How does LASIK work?
A surgical instrument called a microkeratome creates a superficial flap of corneal tissue, which is deflected to one side.

A cool beam of laser light is used to precisely reshape the cornea. The precision of the beam is controlled by a computer, which is programmed individually for each patient by a credentialed medical professional.

After the reshaping process, the corneal flap is replaced without stitches, and the LASIK procedure is complete, allowing light to focus on the retina naturally and correctly.

1. Flap is created, deflected
2. Laser reshapes cornea

3. Flap is precisely replaced
